Apprenticeship Certification

Apprenticeship Certificate

Above is our Apprenticeship Certification. New England Glass Co. is an involved member of the Connecticut Glass Dealers Association and one of our employees sits on the board. We send all of our technicians through the apprenticeship program and have many who have developed into experienced licensed glaziers. Typically our newly hired technicians begin in the shop, assisting with fabrication prior to being thrown into the field and commencing on their apprenticeship certification. This program is somewhat costly and NEGM want to ensure that it is taken seriously as it is a three year commitment.

Glaziers are individuals who work with architectural metal and glass. He or she is a fabricator of aluminum (or other related metals) used in the construction of storefronts or other building facades. The scope of work can range from simple flashing and column covers to large curtain wall openings that span across multiple floors. We have just about 10 license glaziers across the company and are continuing to grow that number. We are active members on Connecticut projects and also work in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  We were recently released to work in New York and are currently completing a project in Staten Island, NY. Connecticut seems to have the most stringent rules when it comes to licensed glaziers, journeymen and apprentice ratios on site. Being that we operate out of CT and conduct the majority of our work here, we abide by the rules of the state.
